I wanted a chess app I could play with my kids on the couch. No accounts, no internet, no ads. Just put the phone down and play. That's how Stevie's Family Chess was born. WOODEN LOOK THAT FEELS RIGHT Detailed pieces in a warm wood style, smooth animations when you move, and a board that feels like real chess. After each move, the pieces rotate to face the next player. TWO PLAYERS, ONE DEVICE Put your iPhone or iPad between you and start playing. Player profiles track your stats. If you want, turn on the chess clock: Blitz, Rapid, or Classical. PLAY AGAINST THE AI The MicroMax engine plays at 4 levels, from beginner to strong (roughly 1200 to 2000 Elo). On newer devices with iOS 26, Apple Intelligence joins as an additional opponent. Everything runs entirely on your device. No internet needed, no data leaves your phone. Stuck on a move? The hint feature shows you the best option. ALL THE RULES Castling, En Passant, Pawn Promotion, Checkmate, Stalemate, 50-move rule, Threefold Repetition. Only legal moves are possible. You can show available moves on the board if you like. SAVE AND SHARE GAMES Every game is saved automatically in PGN format. Replay them later or share via the share sheet. English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese. iPhone and iPad. Fully offline. No ads, no in-app purchases.

Bug Fixes: • Fixed wrong pieces in new styles — Queen, King and Knight now show correct front view • Pieces in non-classic styles are now larger and easier to recognize • Fixed ghost animation where unrelated pieces briefly moved after a move • Fixed castling detection — diagonal moves across 2 columns were incorrectly treated as castling • Disabled piece rotation for 3D styles (perspective broke at 180° rotation) • Pawn promotion: rotation now turns in the correct direction

Momentum comes from crawler snapshots for the tracked storefront. “Viral growth signal” means unusually fast recent rating gains; it is an indicator, not download data.
