WhisperNote is a voice memo app that listens only when you whisper. You tap once. WhisperNote watches the microphone for the unique spectral signature of whispered speech — quiet, breathy, mostly high frequencies. When it hears one, recording starts. When you stop, recording stops. Loud speech, fans, traffic, doors, and clattering plates are ignored. Perfect for the moments where a normal voice memo would wake the baby, annoy the librarian, or feel weird in a shared room. WHAT'S INSIDE • A live speech-bubble visual that pulses when the detector picks up a whisper. • On-device transcription using Apple's Speech framework — your words turn into text without leaving the phone. • A Memos list you can rename, search through, and delete. • Stats: daily streak, whispered seconds, last seven days. • Home Screen widget showing today's whisper minutes. • Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island while you record. • A standalone Apple Watch companion for quick captures. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No cloud. No analytics. No third-party SDKs. Audio is analysed on-device by Apple's AVAudioEngine and transcribed on-device by Apple's Speech framework. There is no network traffic. Everything stays on your iPhone, and deleting the app deletes everything. THREE SENSITIVITY MODES • Strict — only the quietest whispers trigger. Best for silent rooms. • Default — tuned for an iPhone bottom mic in a typical quiet room. • Permissive — activates sooner. Useful with a fan or background hum.
